ISWIB „Challenge of Change“ in cooperation with Club Alpbach Medica
The International Student Week in Belgrade (ISWiB) is an one-week student festival open to students of all European Universities. The association World Youth Wave has so far successfully organized two ISWiBs, first as a pilot project in 2006 and second in 2007. ISWiB 2007 has gathered around 150 students from all over Europe who participated in variety of workshops, panel discussions and lectures.
International Student Week in Belgrade will be held for the third time this year, in the period from 9th till 16th August. Festival will gather approx. 200 participants from whole Europe, with the aim of exchanging opinions and views about the hot issues that a modern society has to face, as well as overcoming global differences through personal contacts and mutual understanding.

ISWiB is a meeting platform for young people with different cultural backgrounds, it is a place to get to know each other, establish new friendships and discuss various topics, from various points of view. Through close communication and cooperation, interactive lectures and workshops, students will be able to gain new knowledge and to exchange ideas in fields of art and culture, environmental protection, economics, health, human rights, media, society, youth activism, photography and filmmaking. Students will also have an opportunity to establish professional contacts with eminent professors and professionals from different fields and to develop and create new projects by them selves.

Our goal is to establish international cooperation and contacts by creating a healthy working environment and enabling stronger bonds among domestic and foreign students.
By promoting the idea of "citizen of Europe" and "citizen of the World", we insist on embracing intercultural and European values and bringing them to a global level of mutual respect and understanding.

The Workshop concerning the topic „Health“ is this year in cooperation with Club Alpbach Medica .
Health
In today's changing world health care and social system is an aspect of life that was increasingly developing. On one hand modern science in pharmaceutics and technology provide more possibilities in health care, but on the other hand we have to question ourselves why there is so much improvement for industrialized countries while the majority of mankind doesn't have proper access to medical care. Many people don't have an opportunity to satisfy their basic social and health needs.
Diseases that don't threaten people in the industrial world, such as cholera, malaria or leprosy can be lethal in less devolved parts of the world due to the lack of hygienic, social and medical facilities. In current times we are witnessing the spread of emerging diseases such as AIDS that have grown into epidemic ranges in several countries. Are we investing funds correctly into development of medicines or should we rather spend money in assuring less expensive medicine to the large majority of world population? But more prosperous societies also face specific problems such as overweight, elderly population, depressions, burn out and others, while the discussions on public financing increase...
What can we do to fight regional and worldwide problems in the health sector? Can awareness and prevention solve some of the problems? In the Health workshop we will take a look at specific regional problems of the participants countries and discuss the worldwide situation regarding the satisfaction of health needs.
